Cancer Prevention Programme at KMU

Cancer of Uterus is one of the major causes of untimely death of women in India and expecially in Tamilnadu. Both city and rural women are totally unaware of its dangerous consequences. The reasons for this negligence is varied. However as it continues to be asymptomatic for a long period, it becomes hard for the individual who is affected by it to detect it. Only a seasoned doctor could identify this problem in its earlier stages. Once identified at an earlier stage, the cure is hundred percentage guaranteed and possible. On 17.8.2008, a medical camp on this subject was conducted at Ammachatram near Kumbakonam under the auspices of Rotract Club,Lions Club and Lioness Club of Kumbakonam. Under the able leadership of Dr.Meenakshi,Cancer Prevention Officer for Tanjore District, volunteers checked and councelled the ladies who attended this programme. Here are some of the snaps taken during the camp. Let us all thank Dr.Meenakshi and her team members as well as the members of Rotract,Lions and Lioness Club members who made this possible.
